Last year 203 men & women graduated from Dover Adult Learning
Center.
YOU could be one of the graduates this June!
There are two ways adults can finish high school:
1. Pass the GED test and receive a
high school equivalency certificate from the State of New Hampshire.
2. Complete the credits you need to earn the Dover High School Adult
Diploma.
How to Start:
The GED or Adult Diploma?
Which is better for you?
There's no one answer for all adults.
Read the information below; then call 742-1030 to meet with one of the
counselors.
Steps to GED
1. Call 742-1030 for an appointment with Counselor Donna McAdam in Dover.
2. Take free diagnostic testing to see if your skills need improvement.
3. Enroll in GED prep classes, if needed. Classes are open during the
school year. Some scholarships are available. Classes are free.
4. When your skill levels are high enough, take official pre-tests. The
pre-tests are free.
5. When you are ready, register for official testing at Dover Adult Learning
Center (or elsewhere). New Hampshire GED test fee is $13 for each test and $65
for all.
Steps to the Adult Diploma
1. Get a copy of your high school records.
2. Call 742-1030 for appointment with Diploma Counselor Bev O'Brien.
3. Meet with Bev for free credit assessment. You may be eligible for
some experience and work credits if you've been out of school for a
while.
4. Make a plan for completing your remaining credits.
5. Register for the credit classes you need. See credit classes in the
AHS section of this bulletin. Some scholarships are available thanks
to Dover Rotary and other contributors.
