CANVAS PAINTING-IMPRESSIONIST STYLE OF VINCENT VAN GOGH

Learn the basics of painting on canvas. Use primary colors of acrylic paint and learn the art of mixing to make secondary colors. A landscape will be painted using Impressionist techniques taught by using vivid colors and movement. Limited to 8.

PATTI SPINELLI
Patti owns a painting studio called Paint for Fun in Dover. It is plaster art items, similar to ceramics, only you take them home the same day. Mrs. Spinelli is a retired art teacher from St. Mary Academy and offers art lessons from preschool to adult, at Paint for Fun.
She attended Plymouth State College, Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and Boston University has degree in Education and Fine Arts. She also does Art Enrichment classes in some of the elementary schools and goes to Adult Day Care Centers with items to paint and assorted art projects.

FENG SHUI-ADVICE FROM THE ANCIENTS: CONSULTING THE I CHING

One of the sacred books of the east, the I Ching (Book of Changes) has long been a guide for those seeking advice. Confucius said his one regret in life was that he could not completely devote himself to its study. Learn to consult this ancient oracle and begin to access what Carl Jung called our 'collective and individual unconscious.' It is suggested that you acquire (used from Amazone in fine) the text we will be using: I Ching, Wilhelm/Baynes translation, published by Princeton University Press.

MOSAICS

Ever wonder what to do with those broken dishes, the favorite bowl the cat knocked off the shelf, the chipped heirloom tea cup? If so, you will love mosaics! A hands on class, we will create a mosaic clad clay flower pot using broken dishes provided by the instructor. You will learn about mastic and grout, tools of the trade, and preparation needed to create an original and unique mosaic art piece which you will be proud to display at home.

Marina has been a lecturer, historian, artist, iconographer, storyteller, and teacher for more than 20 years. She is listed on the New Hampshire Humanities Council Rosters for Traditional Arts, Arts in Education, Arts in Healcare and VSA. She offers between 75 and 100 presentations and workshops each year on Russian art, life, history and culture throughout the New England area.
