
Enter the "Brave New World" of digital photography where visual gratification is immediate and film is free. Students can use their own camera, or use/sample provided. Workshop covers camera features, resolution, printing and papers, downloading, editing for digital imaging. The class will go on a field excursion to gather visual material to download and edit. Hands on insturction will be basic imaging editing, downloading and photo organization. This course is designed for absolute beginners or current digital camera owners that would like a hands-on exposure using their own camera. Bring your camera and manual to class with your questions. Class members will receive a CD with several of the shareware programs used in the course, sample digital photos and links to digital sources on the net.

Single lens reflex cameras allow changing the aperture and/or shutter speed. Discussion and demonstration of exposure, composition & methods to control depth of field by using aperture. ISO settings and their effects discussed along with lens choices. Best if you are familiar with menus and most buttons, understand resolution and downloading. Bring your camera fully charged and the manual. Each student will receive a CD of shareware software and photo examples for the digital photographer.

Course is for absolute beginners and confused users. The primary course objective is the efficient use of menus and settings. Subjects will include resolution, metering, exposure, compensation, ISO, white balance and more. Best if you have taken several photos and are familiar with the main controls. Bring camera with fully charged batteries, a memory card and the manual. Each student will receive a CD of shareware software and photo examples for the digital photographer.

Adobe Photoshop is the primary photo editing application in use today. In this hands-on workshop, learn to use PhotoShop/Photoshop Elements to improve photographic images from ditial cameras and scanners. As good as the images from Digital Cameras are, a little processing can make them great. Learn skills to ready photos for priting and the Internet, adjust tonal value, hue and saturation and color balance. Work with crop and size tools to improve composition and impact. Each student will receive a CD of shareware software and photo examples for the digital photographer. Having a digital camera or graphics experience is not a pre-requisite for this course.
