Email:Shayne has several goals in life. Some of them include Budgeting, Learning Cooking skills, and money skills. In Life Skills class twice a week with Donna Shannon, Shayne is working on some of those skills.
Shayne has been working on counting with pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters as well as matching coins. "I like everything1" exclaims Shayne. Math is one subject that he definitely enjoys. "I like to read magazines or books," he added. He doesn't like the games in class, but that does not seem to affect his enjoyment of the class. He has two special friends in class, Thomas and Leslie. His girlfriend, Eliza, would love to join the class, but she is in another program.
His enjoyment of the class overflows. "I like the teacher (Donna) because she is the smartest. She's helpful and wonderful!" It must make taking the bus to and from class twice a week worth it.
He has other friends, especially where he works as a bagger at Market Basket. "I got too many friends!" said Shayne with his confident smile. He lives at home with his parents and two brothers, but that doesn't seem to keep him busy enough. He also participates in the Special Olympics. Not just one sport, but several. He is involved in skiing, swimming, basketball, soccer, and track and field. He also enjoys the computer and music videos. Very busy person, and definitely knows what he likes. And, he likes learning.
