WHEREAS: |
Dover
Adult Learning Center was incorporated November, 1972; and
|
|
WHEREAS: |
For 30 years, Dover Adult Learning
Center has been providing educational opportunity for adults in our
community; and
|
|
WHEREAS: |
In 1988,
Dover Adult Learning Center was recognized by the U.S. Department of
Education as one of six outstanding Adult Basic Education programs
in the nation; and
|
|
WHEREAS: |
4,088 men and women have earned a high
school credential through Dover Adult Learning Center; and
|
|
WHEREAS: |
Dover Adult Learning Center has trained
more than 750 Certified Nursing Assistants; and
|
|
WHEREAS: |
Dover Adult Learning Center has grown
to become the adult literacy organization for all of Strafford
County; and
|
|
WHEREAS: |
Dover Adult Learning Center serves
older learners as the only New Hampshire location for CyberSeniors
computer courses: and
|
|
WHEREAS: |
Dover Adult Learning Center welcomes
hundreds of Dover and Strafford County learners of all ages in
personal interest community education and computer classes each
year; and
|
|
WHEREAS: |
Dover Adult Learning Center is an
integral part of the City of Dover, enriching the lives of adults
from all sectors of the community and throughout the County;
|
|
NOW, THEREFORE,
I, ALEXANDER G. NOSSIFF, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DOVER, NEW HAMPSHIRE,
